This is the first time it's done this to me on a game, don't forget, though, that this is a playtest version... the drivers for the game have not yet been released.this looks more like failing video card memory or over heating video memory, this is highly doubtful to be the game given it has lines going through the whole screen. The UI elements are not rendered in the same area as the main game so it would make sense if they didn't experience the same lines.
Yeah, it is Valve's problem.OP comes in here
OP says fix visual bug
OP doesnt give any information on GPU/CPU driver
OP doesnt give any memory dumps
2 people here says it might be his video card. ( I would say its his video card too since im running a shitty 6600 and is okay )
OP says it isnt because the game is a "playtest" game. drivers not release for game ( and somehow 150k players dont have this issue )
Therefore its Valve problem.

I'm getting the same, happens every 2-3 games. Killing the process and rejoining occasionally fixes it.
With a cursory google, it seems this issue is affecting a few people around reddit.
None of the ingame settings affect it long term, including dx11/vulkan; however the issue occasionally subsides for a second or two after changing a graphics setting or alt-tabbing, only to come back again.
Running a 3090fe, latest drivers(560.94), 5800x. It doesn't occur on any other game, benchmark, stress test etc.

My first guess seeing the image also would have possibly been failing GPU, but given my gpu is pretty new and is not showing any other signs of artifacting, and other users are experiencing similar graphical issues, it seems likely that it's an issue with the game somewhere.
My guess is something to do with shadows, given it seems to vary in brightness depending on how shaded an object is, and the brigher lines appear to have no shading at all.
Happy to provide any diagnostics if required.
Also, I have a 3080Ti, I have no artifacts with other games, and this problem rarely comes up in my gamesI'm getting the same, happens every 2-3 games. Killing the process and rejoining occasionally fixes it.

yes you would be right if this isn't in any other game, with that said something about your hardware or software configuration is causing corruption in the rendering pipeline. What render method are you using? Vulkan or DirectX? One person has pointed out that this didn't make a difference for them is it the same for you? if so we have two computer with similar issues, just a matter of finding the common denominator to understand what the cause is. I have seen in the pas with this game an issue with how fast it wants the driver to render frames, causing an issue of the driver to panic as it can't keep the pace. For others lowering clock speeds on the video card, hard to say if this will do anything for this specific issue. Also, I have a 3080Ti, I have no artifacts with other games, and this problem rarely comes up in my games
I think it comes from the game and not the hardware![]()
