Golden Goose Egg Rework - Egg Hunt!

Thoughts on current iteration -> Goose egg currently fills a niche of an investment item similar to Midas.
However, the negative effects purchasing goose egg can feel quite bad early on.
When weighed against an option like Extra Health, not only is a player losing a quite significant amount of damage early, they're also losing significant potential from having an item that actually increases your stats/damage.
If your lane mate takes this, you as a teammate are essentially playing with a teammate that has decided to nerf themselves for their time with you specifically, and this feels really bad. An item functionally losing your lane partner 300 health (when they could instead buy Extra Health for example) and simultaneously buffing enemy health pools by 5% (if you're doing roughly half the damage to enemies in your lane) really feels detrimental to the idea of encouraging players to get the most out of the laning phase.

Goals
  1. Maintain the egg ideal as a value investment for later.
  2. Increase lower skill player interest in objectives they otherwise often ignore.
  3. Reduce it's capacity for detriments to be focused mostly on you and your laning partner.

Proposal: Golden Egg Hunter's Map

After 10 minutes have passed, Golden Egg Hunter's Map is purchasable from the shop for x Souls.
Every sinner killed in the presence of the Golden Egg Hunter's Map holder will drop a clue egg that cracks open upon being melee'd.

After several eggs are obtained, a location on the map is highlighted for the egg holder. When they go to this location, they can dig on the spot to reveal a golden egg.
Obtaining the egg gives a large amount of permanent buffs, consumes the item and the shop slot is replaced with Golden Egg Hunter's Trophy, an enhanced iteration of Trophy Collector.
The enhanced Trophy Collector will function similarly to the current Trophy Collector, but begin with an additional stack for each clue egg obtained while holding the Golden Egg Hunter's Map.

This would:
  • Fulfill a very similar function to the egg that many players clearly enjoy a lot.
  • Enhance player interest in objectives (sinners) that are important to focus on.
  • Link into another item that players who want long term payoffs would enjoy (Trophy Collector).
  • Move the negative impact of the item purchase further down the line so that while it will still cause negative tempo for future gains, it won't feel focused on the laning partner and psychologically more separated (as laning phase will have finished and other players will feel far less directly affected), which should overall improve teammate attitudes towards the item.
