geist cannot soul exchange on a gray talon using bird

Basically what the title says, there is a strange interaction with talon being in a window where he can't be targeted by certain abilities. Specifically in this case its Lady Geist's soul exchange. I assumed I'd be able to catch an easy kill with swap into bomb but he was basically in a 'I' window where he couldn't be swapped while using owl. Is this sort of thing supposed to be a way that he can't just be abused in owl mode or is this actually a bug?

there is some weird bug with grey talon while he ults. sometimes you cant melee hit and damage them. i think this happens if you are somewhat far away
