Game keeps crashing without apparent reason.

My friend's game keeps crashing seemingly at random. Some days we play for hours with no crashes, others he crashes 6 times in the span of an hour. We tried verifying the game files, re downloading, reverting graphics card drivers, turning off cpu boost and changing the video settings to no results.
His computer specs are:
Intel core i5-12600k
Radeon RX 6600
16Gb Ram
500 GB Samsung SSD

i have a similar issue and use an intel core i5-8400
when i looked at task manager mid game i saw deadlock takes up like 50~60% of my cpu on average

But I have an older cpu (i5-10400k) and have 0 problems with the game.
