Game doesn't want to launch (Linux)

I have not been able to launch the game since the Haze ult nerf patch. Worked perfectly fine before the recent patch. I play on Linux Mint 22.3. I've tried both Proton 10.0-4 and Experimental. Tried restarting Steam, verifying files, and even reinstalling the game. It doesn't even bring me to the loading screen or anything.

Thanks

I have the same issue, running Bazzite. After the patch that dropped last night I have been completely unable to launch the game.

Here are the steps I tried:
* Verified Files
* Completely re-installed the game
* Re-installed again this time deleting folders manually before uninstalling.
* Updated OS
* Updated Drivers
* Tried Proton compatibility (several versions)
* Removed launch parameters, also tried adding some new ones.

No luck. It looks exactly the same as in the video above, no window opens. Steam says I am playing Deadlock for a moment then it stops.

I was able to rejoin after disconnecting my audio interface altogether. So basically no mic inputs whatsover.

Next game I kept crashing and DCing regardless. I got a temp ban and a hit to my elo because of it.

Someone in the discord suggested proton-GE-RTSP. I was able to play a full bot match with no issue but I'm hesitant to go into a real lobby without a little bit more confirmation that it's safe to do so.

I managed to fix it on my end by turning off Steam Client Beta Participation. No idea why this works, but it did for me.

Hit "Steam" button in the top left corner > Settings > Interface > Client Beta Participation > Select "No beta chosen" and restart Steam.
From here could launch the game normally.

I tried banilla's fix (see above rely), this did not work for me sadly but it may help others.

Fascinating, it does indeed work. Wonder what Valve "We love Linux" Software fucked up this time with no testing outside of Windows
