Friend Invite Backlog?

I have a few outstanding invites that have been waiting 1+ weeks, is there a current backlog of invites that will be cleared soon? Or would this indicate another problem. As a note, the outstanding invites were for friends that had nicknames set.

Yeah its weird I have a friend whos waiting a week+ but other people who I invited at the same time got it instantly

Where the friends also sent invites from others? I had something similar happened to friends that were invited by others to join the playtesting.

All my invitees had their nicknames set. The invites were almost instant. But then everyone in my circle has very old Steam accounts (think Orange Box) and lots of games, and no VAC bans, and even no friends with VAC bans.

I think it's safe to assume that the invitation queue prioritizes invites based on some kind of reputation system. As the number of invited people grows in viral fashion, it will be ever harder to get an invite... So if your account is not exceptionally vintage, and you didn't get lucky otherwise, then it's probably gg, wait for the open access.

That's my personal conjecture anyways.

I think that's unfounded, not that my personal experience is scripture, but the 2 in question are 13+ year old steam accounts with no VAC bans. We originally tested Dota 2 in the early stages back in '12 if I'm remembering my dates.

Yeah the one I'm talking about getting no invite is a 17 year old account also from around orangebox times. Just unlucky I guess 😔

I got a friend who hasn't recieved his invite for 72hrs+ with an old account with plenty of games etc etc. But i have friends that barely play that got the game 15 min after referral. Is this a confirmed bug of some sort? @Yoshi

Yeah my friend is also still waiting. 11 days and counting now. Also funny that he was the one who put us all on the game and hyped us so we got invites from friends of friends but he is still waiting. Well any day now (hopefully)

Seems like a relatively random system in all honesty. I got in within 3 hours of getting invited. A few of my friends have been waiting for 2+ days while others got in within the same day as the invite, with no pattern in account length, though none of us have been vac banned.

Same. I didn't receive an invite on my main Steam account(20lvl, 0 VACS, 5+ years) within a week I guess, but I just tried to get an invite on my second account(2lvl, 6 months old) and got an invite within 2 hours. I don't believe there is any priority, there is a bug for sure.

Same issue here, a friend has been waiting for around 14 days (first invite 16th of August iirc). No VAC, 13 y.o. account, tons of spent money and no history of toxicity in games. Seems completely random tbh.

Yeah I think the problem on my part is that i got an invite from a streamer who streamed while the nda was still up and he got banned. I read somewhere that if you get banned all the people you invited also get banned so my main account is trapped in the shadowzone

Yeah, so the correlation seems to be that for each invite the time it takes to recieve the invite increases/delays somehow. I have 2 accoutns wiht alot of hours no vac bans etc etc and they both got invited from a person with 1k+ invites first. However when i invited my newly created test steam account and invited it through my friends account it got access within 30 min. Should probobly be an easy backend fix from the devs part now that the issue is spotted.
