FPS

I have the same issue under linux. Game runs at a steady ~100 fps (with FSR2 Quality), mostly high-ish settings. During laning phases, running around, everything is smooth, but when the later game starts the fights can drop me to 20fps and make it unplayable. Mouse input also seems to be linked to fps in this case so I can have issues actually pointing at things too. Running through proton selected by valve.

Fedora 40, nvidia 3080 with 555 stable driver and on wayland, 3800x

Same here on linux kernel 6.10.0-arch1-2. I have frame drops when Patron dies and inside the enemy base during teamfights

Same issue here, 3070 ryzen 7 5800x pretty much stuck getting ~100 fps lowest settings dropping to 30-40 during laning and teamfights

I found that switching to Proton GE 9.10 fixes the lags at least so far, I dip to ~75 instead of 30 which makes it perfectly playable.

Same issue. windows; rtx 3070; ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb RAM.
FPS drop was noticed in teamfights, especially on base. Also FPS sometimes drops at random times when moving around the map.

I had the same issue. I noticed that my CPU (5600x) was mostly the bottleneck and not my GPU. It appears that the game cannot utilize all my CPU cores/threads. I turned off SMT/Hyperthreading in the BIOS, which improved the drops considerably. I hope that the game will be more optimized before the release, as this solution is extremely sketchy and for most of the stuff I do on my PC SMT improves performance.

Thats sound like the Source 2 engine still doesn't like HT/SMT which is weird because we have HT/SMT for long now
I know the engine is still CPU demanding In my case when i was on Ryzen 7 2700 its has soo severe problems with Deadlock that my CPU cant take it anymore and bootleneck my GPU

I don't know what kind of performance problems you have. I don't seem to have any freezes or freezes.

Setup:
CPU: Intel i5 6600k (3.5Ghz overclocked)

RAM: 16gb DDR3 2933

Math: z-170k

GPU: 1070ti (On the March driver. All new ones are laggy and buggy. Cause crashes and reduce FPS)

TV: 1080p

Game on HDD

Windows 10

I play on minimum settings in native resolution without upscaling

I dont have it anymore since i moved to Ryzen 7 7800X3D (Luckly upgrade was planned in good time :D)

The problem was.... I was on Zen+ which wasnt great CPU architecture for gaming and has latency issues that i was aware of
Source/Source 2 doesnt like Cache latency problems

Now when im on Ryzen 7 7800X3D the game runs normaly when there is very demanding action my framerate goes to 60 FPS where in Ryzen 2700 its goes to 20 fps which was horrible

I've noticed while using mangohud that both cpu and gpu are using only up to 50% at any time, I'm guessing it's an issue with multicore optimizations? (Ryzen 3800x and 3080 nvidia)

I can't seem to play this game at all. FPS goes from 100+ to <30 constantly (according to the FPS widget from Steam), even just in sandbox mode or a private bot match. It's smooth for half a moment, and then the frame hitch hits and the FPS actually is more like 1 and then back to 100+, over and over again.

Game settings are the absolute lowest. tried is full screen, boardless windowed, and at multiple resolution, nothing changes.
I can't figure out what it is about my system or settings that I could make it more stable.

I have a 3050 and a i5-14400F, with 32GB RAM

I have had a similar issue with performance and FPS instability.

System Info

- Patch version Game: 5086
- OS: Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19045
- System Type: X64
- CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
- RAM: 2x8GB 3200 MHz
- GPU: RTX 3060 TI
- GPU driver version: DCH 560.81

I’ve experienced performance issues and FPS drops. Using MSI Afterburner, I noticed that during the drops and instability, the CPU usage would spike to 100%. The CPU usage was very random, it could be at 20% and then suddenly jump to 80% or 95% in an instant.
I managed to mitigate the issue by switching the API from DX11 to Vulkan. Now, the maximum CPU usage is around 30-40%, and the FPS drops are less frequent. I’m not sure if the issue is because DX11 overloads the CPU or if Vulkan disables some process, but in my case, DX11 turned out to be the problem, preventing me from playing properly.

After upgrading my cpu to 7800x3d from 3800x I can surmise that the horrible fps spikes are related to cpu bottlenecks in the game code. The only reliable fps drop I can get right now is Seven dropping his orb on the ground and staring at it really hard (drops from ~110 to ~70), could just be gpu at that point.
