FPS Drops (300 -> 2 fps) micro stutters post Old Gods, New Blood

same issues on an amd (rx9060xt + ryzen 5 8400f) machine on fedora linux, was running on 120 fps before the update, now in games (everything is okay in the lobby) after some time (it can be 5 minutes and it can be 30) it becomes a stable 15-30 fps and it is NOT fixed until i relaunch the game (changing graphics settings doesn't work, the ram/cpu/gpu are not fully utilized, no overheating or anything). the drops seem situational, sometimes it just doesn't happen ???
relaunching doesnt even help me

It's like, different for everybody for some reason. I find that restarting my game fixes it, but other people have this issue for like, weeks. I don't know what could possibly be causing this.

i have no idea either. And I’m very surprised to not see any streamers or YouTubers talking about this. Are we just extremely unlucky?

If its unluckiness, a whole lot of people must be extremely unlucky. No idea why its not happening to any streamers and stuff like that.

The only streamer I saw talk about this was Rocaine, this was about 8 days ago. Don't know if he still has issues tho.

Turns out Windows update (kb5074109) breaks some GPU features which causes VRAM leaks, glitches etc. Update to the latest windows to fix the issue. Or unisinstall the update by typing "wusa /uninstall /kb:5074109" in the CMD. However, in some cases it doesn't work which means an update is needed.

This worked for me! Wow thanks

I have been getting the same issues since Venator was added, my average FPS went from around 200 to 130 and in battles or seemingly randomly it dips to single digit FPS. Recently when it starts having issues I can alt tab out of the game then tab back in and it will work good for a period that could be minutes or only a few seconds before my frames take a nose dive again. I don't have any issues with any other games and turning my settings to as low as possible did nothing to alleviate the issue.

Specs:
Ryzen 7800x3d
32gb DDR5
RTX 5070ti
2tb NVME SSD

Option 1:

You can either try to uninstall Windows Update Version: KB5074109 by typing "wusa /uninstall /kb:5074109" in the Command Prompt (don't forget to run as ADMIN) or by going to Settings > Windows Update > Update history > Uninstall updates > Uninstall KB5074109
Option 2:

Install the latest Windows Update Version: KB5074105. I already tested this version, yes it fixes the stuttering, however rolling back to an update before KB5074109 is way more stable. I set up a restore point to rollback to the previous update.

not sure if this is the actual reason for this issue, I never had this update (or newer versions) in the first place but I am experiencing these stutters after the graves update.

I started getting them after Old Gods, New Blood. I tried updating and deleting both updates and stutters remained.

never experiencing any stutters before the updates, and yea i have old windows 11 version which previously run better at anything, but right now it really bad i had to re open the game after one match and yet it just reduce the stutter not gone 100%, Yoshi please fix.

Also, thanks @J1ffrey for testing the new windows update so i dont have to update mine

You should still try it anyway. No one really knows what is causing this and other ppl assert that the update fixed it for them.
