I got hit by a series of bugs all at once.
First I got disconnected from the game for no apparent reason, simply appearing back at the lobby, which lost us the game.
At this point I was unable to join a new match and couldn't end the current match without abandoning.
However, I could also not start the game to try and remidy this, as it got stuck in a constant "unable to sync" error in Steam that didn't go away even after restarting Steam. So far I haven't been able to get back into the game.
