controller support disabled with patch

I jumped into the hideout on reading this and indeed the stick of my azeron cyborg II is not moving my character anymore. Even reloaded steam input templates to refresh and nothing. Unfortunate thing to happen when I plan to continue testing for a controller/steam input related bug I've been posting about. Literally won't be able to until this is fixed.

With the new Apollo update the steam input has dropped the controller/glyph support, causing the player to have to use only keyboard binds. While I can adjust it to temporarily resolve the issue, it is frustrating having to bind all inputs to keyboards binds; as the glyphs will only display numbers and letters instead of controller inputs.
Its kind of fixed for me now, the bindings are all messed up.

So after the newest update, to resolve this issue go to your settings ingame and look at the controller pane. It will say controller not detected, even though steam input is detecting the inputs. With this menu open, unplug the controller and then put it back in.

Due to a medical condition I cannot play on mouse and keyboard or severe tremors happen. Like this patch destroyed the controller input. I tried reverting it to steamdecks but, that didn't work either. It worked for a bit but, the hotfix messed it up again. Hopefully they fix this.

TEMPORARY SOLUTION:

This has worked for about 5 months now as this bug has been around for a long time but never addressed, if you connect the controller while the game is already running the controller will finally respond in the title screen and after. Remembering to do this every single time is tedious but it's the only way to use a controller on this game.

I repeat connect your contoller after the game has launched, never before and your controller will work.

Sadly that didn't work this bug is decimating.

Still fucked up for me :(

First, said controller wasn't detected, so I tried this, and it was detected, but still no input came through.

Using a KBMStick, which makes the situation a bit weirder, since I'm trying to run both controller and keyboard layout at the same time.

Worked every day, sometimes with having to unplug and replug it back in after the game has been launched, but no problems besides that.

-----

Edit: Restarted the game with the controller unplugged, then plugged it in after the game started and it works, will test more to see if that's a solution or if it's just fixed for me now.

Yerp. Tried with the controller plugged in first, replugging it in after the game has booted, didn't work. Tried to validate files, then tried every variation - didn't work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, since
... as this bug has been around for a long time but never addressed ...

So I assumed it was because the bug caused something in the configuration files to reject the controller input after something has been changed, and that might have caused the fuck up.

I'm wondering if the bug happens to new players. It might confirm my suspicions if that's the case, so I'll try to be looking into that later.

Yes! I’ve played 700 hours on steamdeck and now can’t play anymore :(
