Controller Not Mapping

I am playing through steam and trying to use an Xbox controller. The 4 special abilities that would map to the keys 1,2,3 &4 do not work on controller, because those abilities are already mapped to other things. I might suggest that holding the buttons down for X,Y,A & B might be a good alternative?

Also, the slide function is completely not mapped to the controller at all.

I will report more controller bugs as I find them, but at present, the game is unplayable on controller in this state.
