I feel the game could use more information about the hard limits and diminishing returns on some items. A lot of this can only really be discovered by experimenting in the sandbox to see if you are truly getting what you expect from certain items. Sometimes things have diminishing returns, while others have hard limits, and yet some have no limits at all. You can't easily figure out which is which without spending a lot of time fiddling around. I’d like the tooltips to better explain these mechanics. Many players have wasted souls on items without realizing they’re only getting half of what they expected.
For example, lifesteal doesn’t explain that it has diminishing returns, so stacking certain items could actually be a waste and would be better spent elsewhere. Many heroes’ ability cooldowns have hard limits on how low they can go and don't actually reduce to what you might expect. For instance, Geist’s ultimate has a hard limit of 90 seconds, even though it should be as low as 78 seconds with 1 point in it and Superior Cooldown imbued. Sometimes this isn't obvious—like with Dynamo using Superior Cooldown and Enchanter's Barrier—which doesn't show a cooldown reduction on the tooltip, but it does reduce it further.
All of this can be pretty confusing, so it would be nice if we had more detailed tooltip information or a warning that certain items won't take full effect on some abilities.
