Can I play on same lane as my friend?

I am playing only with friends. In last 20 games I was playing with my friend on same lane ONLY TWICE. And those game that I was counting.

I play with different people (duo mostly), and the fun thing that we are getting on different lanes even when our duo lanes AREN'T PREMADE.

I am not asking for cybersport, SBMM or something like that. I want to have fun in unranked games with my friends on lane. I am playing different champs, Abrams, Kelvin, Pocket, Shiv, Yamato, Lash, Paradox, Ivy and every time I'm separate from my friends

Tbh, we are not even asking teammates to swap now, we simply go together on the same lane

Supposedly, it lanes matches based on MMR. You might be putting the other player at a disadvantage by forcing them into a different lane. Regardless, I've been asked a few times to switch (as has other teammates) and they have, except once. I don't see it is such a big deal to just ask.

I am playing casual matches for fun, not for hidden MMR

Following up here as a I was about to post about it myself. Felt like a couple patches ago, me and the friend I'd queue in with were always in the same lane. Now it feels like I'm always asking someone to switch, which, depending on how responsive they are, can really change the first few minutes of the game.
