Bots don't buy items

After the most recent patch as of 14th Feb 2026, bots don't buy any items at all. They used to buy them before.

My friends and I noticed this as well since we play bots to learn the game and new characters. Is this intended, or just a bug? Hopefully just a bug since it's not even a challenge anymore...

Update: I tested to see if it was just the bots in Bot Match or if the custom game could be different, it isn't; seems like it's all bots at the moment.

Yea for me also. Played fully bot matches and till the end of the game the bots dont by stuff and are super weak in mid and late game

Caused by buyitem exploit fix, bots used to buy items outside of the shop also.

Same issue here. It kinda just makes bot matches boring as there isn't any difficulty curve late or mid game as you just steamroll the base statted bots.

Can confirm as well, was just making a bug report when I saw this thread. In private Street Brawls they do act as normal though.

Seems it is mostly happening on the Hidden King side of bot matches for me

Can confirm that it is essentially all bots having an issue in Standard mode (from testing), Brawls are fine.

same issue here, just played two games with my buddy, in the first match only one bot bought some items, in my second game none of the bots bought anything

Still seems to be an issue after tonight's patch, trying to teach some friends the game with bot games but they're so much less helpful with bots not buying

Having the same issue here, still after current patch. Went into a Hard Standard match and absolutely curb-stomped the bots. Only found out AFTER that the reason I was having such an easy time was because the bots had no items lol

So this issue may still be happening.

This issue is still happening as of this post. Please fix - it's a pretty fun way to learn the ins and outs of standard mode and them not being able to buy stuff makes it deceptively easy to go through.
Also: Please give them the ability to coordinate Mid Boss attacks, and consider farming Denizens/Crates as well - you'll definitely be seeing those in real matches so a version of that should exist for bot practice matches.

Update from a few hours later: This still affects all bots from basically all gamemodes that use them, regardless of difficulty. The bots can now use the new champs though.

Seems like they are doing a rework on the bots, a few days ago players are able to be on Arch Mother's side and now there seems to be more bots variety (before it was always the same old characters) Hopefully they fix this bug together with reworking the bots ai, letting them do jungle, sinners and stuff. With a large influx of new players having a good bot system allows them to get better at the game faster before hopping into real matches.

Update: This is still the case as of today. Practice matches on average never go past 20 minutes.
