Bans from Silent Update Crashes

Good morning,

I've been banned three times for "abandoning" a game and all three times its because Valve ships a silent update, my game crashes as a result and then I have to wait for a download to restart (and sometimes restart my computer or steam) and I get a ban. The bans have each been longer than the one before it as well.

This is ridiculous and there needs to be a way to appeal bans for this reason. It's a really terrible player experience.

That's not actually what's happening, the game will just randomly download something every time you crash. It's unrelated to the patches.

Well, that's almost worse. I mean, getting banned because of a crash is aparently a big problem looking around the forum, especially because these random downloads don't happen fast enough for you to rejoin
