I don't understand why it works like this. I hardly wrote anything in the chat, then I met a player on infernus, who played absolutely terribly and at the end of the game wrote a couple of words purely out of emotion, because the person above me does not understand the game at all. As a result, I was banned for 9 days and now I can't play in the rating. But what if I want to develop in this game and play professionally in the future? Do I need to write a fine of a whole week for writing in the chat once? I understand bans for a couple of hours or a day, but ban on a week for a couple of words once in a lifetime is too much. I want them to appeal my ban and give at least a day, but definitely not a week. I fully admit my guilt and will try not to insult other players anymore, but I don't want to sit for 9 days for a few words. I really like the game and I want to play in the rating mode and reach the rank of Eternus.

Even if they unban you, you're just gonna wind up getting banned again off the back of one loss because people are rampantly abusing the reports right now. You don't need to do anything egregious in such a system. Just slight someone in any way (even kicking their ass on the enemy team).

So why hasn't valve said anything? They could easily dispel all of the rumors about report abuse and overzealous chat restrictions in less than a minute. Their silence tells me that there's a lot more going on behind the scenes, and that there's a kernel of truth behind the numerous posts about being falsely chat restricted.

i agree with you, they should just announce whats happening under the hood because theres like 15 same thread right now with the same title, but yoshi said it himself before within discord responding about comms ban :



heres what i think happening to the people with continious/multiple comms ban :

you acumulate enough report to reach the threshold which he say high, maybe 30 report within lets say last 20 games, you get your first comms ban, and then after your comms ban ended, you still have 30 report flagged in your account, its not gone, so the next game you play and get 1 report, thats 31 report within last 20 games, automatically banned again after one game.

so its like getting parole from jail if you finished from your first ban.

Thirdly, I wasn't banned 3 times before, my first ban was for 2 days, and then immediately for 9. The 2-day ban was about a month and a half ago. If the system works like in conditional Dota and for leaving games they give more and more punishment time, then there is at least a time to reset the "offense" and if I broke the rules and got a ban for 30 minutes, and then for 2 hours, then if I don't break the rules for a long time, then the progress of the violations will decrease and I will be given 30 minutes again if I break it again. And in deadlock I broke the rules a long time ago and in a good way they should have reset my blocking progress.

no, its 4th offense, cause 1st offense is 2 day ban, 2nd offense is 4 day ban, 3rd offense is 7 day ban, theres multiple statement from all other people in here getting multiple ban with the same punishment time on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time.

but if the 1st offense is month and half ago, then they possibly used all games played/report ratio treshold, i thought they record report for the last 20 games played like dota2 was.

You're not a developer. Your speculation is about as helpful as speculation about the shape of the globe. Even if you're hypothesis is correct, then I am proven right in that the report system is incredibly flawed and easy to abuse. That message also predates the lifting of the social media embargo, the introduction of an in-game report button, and the introduction of ranked. Reporting certainly has changed since then, and from the looks of it, it has changed for the worse.

i believe some people get a 100% deserved ban and because that leads to banned from ranked mode, now they are more active and jumping on the bandwagon in this forum saying hes innocent and want the ban to be revoked, im not pointing finger because idk who Actually deserved and whos not, but some really becoming active in this forum and jumping on the bandwagon.

if your 2nd ban really jump into 9 days, skipping 4 days or 7 days, that means you do some severe, heinous offense in comms, because what i read from others, they get 4 days then 7 days.
