Axel: Transforming Mecha & Pilot

Basic Concept
A polite mercenary in a mechanical suit of armor called the Wolfshammer, which can transform into different battle forms. Her ultimate allows her to leave her armor, giving her a new set of abilities.

Abilities
Axel's abilities are transformations. Each changes Axel's stats, gun, and gives her a unique ability that can only be used in that form. After transforming from one form to another, the ability to change into the previous form goes on cooldown. As each form is leveled, the cooldown after transforming is reduced, and with cooldown reduction, Axel can circulate between each form in the middle of combat.

1 (Trooper): this is leveled by default at the start of the game, similar to Vyper's slide. In this form, the Wolfshammer resembles a robotic german soldier, circa WW1.

* Gun - Greasegun: Rapid fire rate and middling accuracy.

* Unique Ability - Smoke: By activating this ability while already in Trooper form, Axel will fire a rocket propelled smoke grenade. Enemies directly hit by the grenade are heavily slowed. Friendlies can see through the smoke but enemies cannot. Enemies also cannot see hero outlines through the smoke, and the minimap goes dark for enemies caught in it. When Trooper is maxed out, Smoke briefly turns friendlies invisible when inside it's aoe.


2 (Panzer):Wolfshammer turns into a tank. Stats as compared to trooper form:
+ bullet and spirit resist
+ knockup and slow resist
+ debuff duration reduction
- turn rate
- takes longer to build up speed
- Stamina
- jump height
* Gun - Howitzer: cannon that fires magical exploding rounds which knockback enemies.
+ Rounds explode
+ bullet damage scales with spirit
+ Knockback
- fire rate
~ Bullets fly in an arc

* Unique Ability - Trample: Charge foreward in a straight line, knocking away and damaging any enemies you pass through.


3 (Eiger): Wolfshammer transforms into a monsterous, fanged humanoid. It's movements become more organic, more bestial. Stats compared to trooper:
+ stamina
+ melee speed (both heavy and light)
+ jump height
- bullet and spirit resist

* Gun - Melee: in this form, Wolfshammer attacks with it's bare claws. Primary fire becomes light melee while alt fire becomes heavy melee.
* Unique Ability - Grapple: it's the Izuna Drop from ninja gaiden. Grab a nearby enemy, jump into the air with them in your arms, and pile drive them back down to earth. You are untargetable while in the air and the victim is stunned while in your grasp. Damage is dealt to the target and to any enemies in an aoe around the landing point.

ULT (Hatch):Axel exits the Wolfshammer, removing all debuffs from herself, her cooldowns refresh and she gets a new, full healthbar. She has increased speed and stamina in this form, but her max health is significantly smaller, and she has less magic and bullet resist. She can re-enter the wolfshammer by activating her ult near it. If she moves out of a certain range of the Wolfshammer, it will start the process of teleporting back to spawn.

*Gun-Freischutz: A magical rifle that fires homing bullets. Specific targets can be selected with alt fire.

Abilities
In this form, Axel can use all the unique abilities of the other forms, albeit with reduced cooldowns and some other changes:
* Smoke no longer slows on impact
* Trample has shorter range and does less damage
* Grapple only damages the target

Appearence/Voice/Personality
Axel's voice, when in the mechsuit is filtered by the static of old radio equipment. It speeds up and slows down, becomes deeper and higher pitched at random. Occassionally german show tunes bubble out of the static.

Axel is always optimistic and polite. she sees war as a kind of noble sport, and only ever compliments her enemies.

Axel herself is a young brunette with scars on the left side of of her face, and a miscolored eye. She wears a black plug suit and a black burgmutze cap. She keeps her hair in a ponytail. She's surprisingly waifish compared to the bulkiness of her armor, and has a smaller hitbox than most other heroes.
 
Lore
Axel was born under a lucky star. This made her uniquely equipped to pilot the experimental "Wolfshammer" powered armor suit, which had a 100% percent casualty rate before she climbed into the seat. Normally, the in-suit combustion engine would explode before the pilot could fire their first round, but with Axel in inside it remained (mostly) stable. Wolfshammer and it's new pilot were deployed onto the hellish fields of Ixia for testing, fighting among the "free corps", mercenaries hired by the Ixian natives. It was in this storm of steel and blood, after enduring and miraculously surviving multiple head wounds, that Axel began having the visions. First the premonitions came subtly, like little daydreams coming to life on the front. In the morning she'd imagine strange hellbirds and flowers, only to see them for real in the afternoon. Some visions were more useful, like dreaming of where the Fairfax Corporation hid their munitions depot, or the identities of spies.
As time drew on, and the visions showed events further and further into the future, they became less useful and more frightening.
Axel saw, stretching endlessly forward in time, not an endless war, but an eternal and terrible peace. She saw a world without justice or freedom, for the people there lacked the will to fight for such things. There was no love anymore, as people had forgotton how to hate, and pleasure was extinct, as it had become a casualty in man's numbing fight against pain, long ago. Children were no longer born, and the people there lived forever, in tiny cubicles stacked atop each other, routinely drugged by machines following century old programming. In these coffin cities which stretched across a treeless earth, there was no laughter or weeping, nor drudgery or play. No vows of revenge. No art or literature. No religion. No families. No love or adventure. No sisterhood. No brotherhood. Only quiet, blissless dreams.
The people there, on future's horizon, had achieved total peace. The living-dead world.
The reccurrent visions of such a future would have driven Axel insane had he not heard of the patrons, and their deal.

There is only one cure for the evils of eternal peace, with which Axel is quite familiar. With the help of the patrons she knows she can secure the one thing necessary for mankind to remain free from the doom which she foresaw: the promise of neverending war.
