Auto Queue Build toggle not working

Feels like I have to manually queue my build 80% of my games because the auto queue doesn't work. Not sure what causes it but it seems every time I notice it I'm in the middle of taking enemy fire while trying to buy my first item and it really trips me up.

It seems to only happen when you get put into the game as the same character that you were playing as in the hideout. So if I was McGinnis in the hideout and get into the game as McG, then my build isn't auto queue'd. But if I'm sitting in hideout as Victor for example and get into the game as McG, then the auto queue toggle works as intended.
