1. Select a hero with a targeted ability (like Doorman's ult) and buy Arcane Surge
2. Dash-Jump
3. Use the ability on a target right on the edge of the extended cast range.
4. The ability isn't cast, and the extended range is lost. Some animations or sounds related to the ability are played, but nothing else.

I also tested it with Geist's ult and drain, and Warden's cage. Same result.
