Adding more artistic elements to the game

After nearly 300 hours of gameplay, I really love this game. I understand the developers’ intention—since the game is highly competitive, the visuals are kept simple so both sides can clearly see all the different abilities. However, I still feel that the maps and heroes are a bit too dull. I hope they could add more variety in terms of colors. The color schemes in Overwatch and Concord are pretty good; it would be nice to shift slightly towards their style. Concord has decent visual richness, but the characters are too politically correct, and the gameplay itself is pretty lackluster.

The gameplay in Deadlock is fantastic, with many brilliantly designed heroes reminiscent of Wrecking Ball and Mei from Overwatch. If the hero voice lines, dialogue, and backstory could take even a small inspiration from Overwatch, it would elevate the experience. I also think the art style could use more color, similar to the environments in Sony’s Concord. For example, adding moss to the ground and walls near the big creature, or some decorative sculptures on the pillars during the laning phase, would make the world feel more alive.

Not to mention the fact this is an alpha. Lots of temporary art, the game will most likely look vastly different on release, with better visual clarity and a more cohesive art style. I'd say the "artistic elements" are pretty good, abilities are very readable and each hero has a very distinct silhouette.

Sony's what?

Seriously though. This is an alpha build. A lot of what you are seeing here is temporary or partially finished. There is no way that we won't get facial animations of some sort when the game fully releases (Valve has great technology on this front within the Source engine, they will want to show off what they can do with Source2 for sure). It's pointless to argue about this now.

One of my friends posted this concept art in the chat once. I don't know if it's real or fan-made, but I hope the game will look like this one day.
