Account banned after VPN and internet connection drop

I was waiting in the matchmaking queue with a VPN enabled when my internet connection and VPN abruptly dropped. The game closed, and after restarting it, I found that my account had been permanently banned.
I respectfully request that the moderators review this situation, as I believe this ban may have been issued in error.
I would appreciate your assistance in removing the ban.

Does any multiplayer game with dedicated servers let you use a VPN? As far as I've been aware, it's the norm, not the exception, that you get banned from everything if they notice you using a VPN

you can do csserverpicker, not giving you a way to change servers doesnt mean you cannot do it yourself. a vpn is just like any other connection.

I think that if this were really a permanent ban, it would have been an HWID ban. But I checked on another account, and it works perfectly fine.
So I believe this is some kind of mistake.
