[Ability Concept] Phoenix Supernova

How I imagine Phoenix Supernova would work in Deadlock.


- would be an ultimate ability.

- Large AOE that deals damage, (small dps). The damage effect would show where damage is coming from, so you can understand which direction the source is.

- Damage would trigger Lightning Scroll, so its like two stuns.

- The AOE should be large like Seven's ultimate - maybe even grows larger. Or has a effect radius that scales with spirit and the growing effect radius scales with spirit too.

- The damage would be scalable by spirit but insignifcantly? It is also small so that it wouldn't feel like another Seven Ultimate.

- It would go through walls, the stun would go through walls??

- It will refresh abilities on finished casting? Probably a T1 talent upgrade.

- You must destroy the egg using Melee damage, heavy or normal or abilities. (Perhaps a T2 upgrade states that it only works with Heavy Melees)

- 6 second duration that does not scale with Superior Duration or Ability duration items.

- Melee HP: 480/960/1440
- Heavy Melee hits: 4/8/12 hits
- Light Melee hits: 16/32/48 hits

- Maybe the Egg HP can be scaled with either Spirit or HP regen on cast?

- You can parry during supernova as an egg?? maybe as a T3 upgrade

- you cannot move during egg.

- cannot target allies because of griefing cases and saving an ally like that could be quite op




2 styles visual ability indicator styles:

- egg has two spheres and the outer shell is transparent. the sphere within grows and explodes or implodes once they equal in size.

- egg calculates the distance from the floor and travels downwards in the span of 6 seconds, and explodes on impact.

- Wrecker doing her arms thing is also a pretty alright visual ability indicator but its not cool enough.





Combo abilities:

- Need to prevent enemies from using Melee for a decent duration (like disarm but for melee maybe also somehow prevents all melee damage sources including abilities?)


- If Egg HP can be scaled using current HP regen on cast, perhaps the hero would have an ability that would give them a insane stacking HP regen, but it fluctuates or doesn't instantly give the Hero the insane HP regen - so there's some gameplay element.

- No movement abilities (Icarus Dive) because majestic leap and warp stone, stamina mastery exist and more.

- no sun ray cause there could definitely be something else that would be interesting. So this would intend to remove sun ray from the ultimate.














A dota 1 story:

Pheonix was my first hero i started to properly play dota 1 with. I would 1v1 my brother and sun ray, throw my spirits and finally win. As an undead main i pick the neurbian assassin, nyx, which was a terrible 1v1 hero. And i was super confused when fire lord was black and had the icon visual of the shades.

I thought it was really cool that I could play as an ultimate ability of the Blood mage.

I was like 9 years old. Definitely still had no idea how to play the game and was running it down with boots or other items i could recognize from the main game, wc3. 3 claws of attack and boots.
