A living sentient Knight Armour would fit the theme nicely

So I had this idea for a Deadlock hero: a sentient headless knight armor that looks super dark and intimidating, but the twist is he’s got this cute little green ghost pet as his companion.
The armor itself is silent and menacing, kinda like a walking fortress, but the ghost (I call him “Casper”) is all bubbly and playful, which gives a cool contrast and lightens the vibe.

The kit would play into that dynamic—armor handles the heavy stuff like durability, CC, and initiation, while the ghost does utility and mischief, like dashing out to tag enemies, scouting by phasing through terrain, or even giving allies a little boost.

For the ultimate, I thought it’d be sick if the armor splits apart and becomes an anchor while the ghost goes wild with mobility and AoE disruption. On top of that, the duo has so much personality potential—the ghost could be super talky while the armor never says a word—and tons of skin ideas too (different armor styles, ghost variants like a cat, slime, rabbit, etc.).

Casper & Sire – Short Deadlock Hero Concept

Core Fantasy

"Dominate the battlefield as a spectre and knight duo. Launch crushing gauntlet strikes and explosive armor retribution while your sentient defenses grow stronger with every hit taken. When the battle intensifies, unleash your ghostly companion in a devastating aerial rampage bound only by your immovable boots."

Abilities

1. Gauntlet Toss

Sire tosses his gauntlet at an enemy target, stunning and interrupting them for 1 second while dealing spirit damage. Can be alt-cast to have Casper & Sire fly together with the gauntlet, landing on the enemy and delivering a powerful metallic punch that deals increased damage.

2. Knight's Retribution

For several seconds, Casper & Sire gain a barrier with X health points that rapidly regenerates. When the ability ends, Sire's armor explodes outward, launching sharp steel swords that damage all nearby enemies. The damage type matches whichever damage type was most prevalent against the barrier, and the damage amount is a percentage of total damage absorbed (with a minimum damage threshold). At level 2/3, the barrier also absorbs 20% of damage dealt to nearby teammates.

3. Living Armor (Passive)

Sire's sentinel armor adapts to enemy attacks and accumulates up to 8 defensive stacks. Each stack provides spirit resistance, bullet resistance, and health regeneration. Stacks are gained when taking damage and last for 6 seconds, refreshing with each new hit received.

4. Enraged Spirit (Ultimate)

Casper explosively separates from Sire's armor in a spectral rage, flying freely within a large radius while growing in size and shifting to a reddish color. Armor fragments orbit around Casper as he moves. During this state, Casper can use any of his regular abilities with increased spirit scaling, bonus damage, and reduced cooldowns. However, Casper is tethered to Sire's immobile boots and cannot move beyond the ultimate's range. Casper moves quickly and is harder to target while airborne. The ultimate can be ended early by pressing the ability key again.

Weapons

The Right Gauntlet (Primary Weapon)

A ranged weapon that fires the individual finger segments of Sire's gauntlet. Contains only 5 bullets but deals substantial damage per shot. The reload animation features Casper using his spectral powers to magically return the finger segments back to the gauntlet. Alt-fire launches all 5 finger segments simultaneously in a powerful fist shot that deals massive damage while knocking Sire & Casper backward from the recoil.

Sentient Sword (Melee Weapon)

A living blade that serves as their melee weapon for close-quarters combat. Deals high melee damage, perfectly suited for this tanky caster who likes to fight close up.

PS:

I really liked your idea - it’s super cool! So, I come up with some ability ideas myself. And honestly, if they ever added an actual knight into the game, not making him a sentient suit of armor would be a totally missed opportunity!

Also, you mentioned you’d like a Firefighter character in the game, right? How do you imagine this character working? The first thing I thought was: “Wait, if there’s a firefighter, then there has to be fire, right? Otherwise, he’s not really a firefighter - just a guy with a water hose.”
So wouldn’t it be really cool if we had a firefighter who’s a little bit twisted in the head - instead of fighting fire, he actually spreads it? That way, we’d not only get a firefighter, but also fire itself too.

I think this would be easily retooled as living armor
