This is the equivalent of buybacks, which I personally think that as a mechanic in DotA, it is only used to drag games for longer than they should have. I'm all for comeback mechanics but I'd love for this game to just not copy every possible mechanic from DotA and keep it fresh.

Honestly I think buying back should probably just be added back in but only enabled in the late game at this point, say 15 or 20 minutes into a match. Dunno if making it an item would be that intuitive for a mechanic like that specifically.

Rejuvenator (killing the mid-boss and claiming it) already does this, and has to be earned through fighting instead of buying.
I think a buy item would be redundant, but I buy-in version has its own implications.
