You can start searching in party in active game

Start any game with party
After game is active leave the match by pressing "leave match"
Go to table and press deadlock mode > play
This wil trigger pop-up of hero selection screen for all players in party, didn't test what will happen if all will accept heroes

I am absolutely certain that I couldn't do that before, but over the last three days I have done it several times.
