If you have the maximum amount of items in street brawl and you recieve an offer to upgrade an item and get a bonus item, and yo take that offer. The game will upgrade the item and give the bonus item without forcing you to sell it.
This is only apparant when you get another item and it prompts you to sell one of your items, in which case i will show all 9 items. During gameplay only 8 items will appear equiped, but you will still get the stats of your 9th item.
