I SKILLED up my ultimate at 3k souls while under fire from Lash and (maybe? Warden) and became immune, and locked at 250 hp.
To clarify, I did not use it, I skilled it up. I was unable to move, and I was taking damage numbers, but my health was not moving. I had to unstick - after unsticking, I couldn't use abilities until I died.
edit: I also used the quick-learn command, ALT+4.
