Don't know if it's just me, but her hooking ability just doesn't feel right in her kit, like sure, it's a chasing ability, but it feels so boring and one-dimensional, with no real skill expression to it. Not to mention her phasing through buildings while chasing you down, looking extremely janky.
So...I came up with an idea. Let's give her some mobility, and a soft CC. (Similar to Dynamo's Pulse and Holliday's Barrel, but with less aerial lockout)
ASCENDING THRUST
This ability will make her quickly dash forward while dragging her blade on the floor.
If it doesn't hit anything or isn't pressed again, she just stops when the duration wears off (like Abrams dash)
If it collides with an enemy, or the ability is pressed again, she will perform an upwards slash, dragging any enemies hit with it into the air.
Then she can follow up with the rest of her abilities with no lockout animations (like Bebop Uppercut into HyperBeam)
The distance covered could scale with spirit or standard duration items.
I feel like this would "solve" the janky hook iteraction while chasing people down, while still being a chasing ability. And being more interactive and fun to play as or against, not just an "Point and click" to get somewhere.
Any thoughts?
