Why does MMR decay have to be so aggressive?

MMR decay is very aggressive, and this can ruin the experience for people who KNOW WHAT TO DO IN THE GAME but don't have much time to play.

I'll use myself as an example. When ranked existed, my initial rank was somewhere between ARCHON 6 and ORACLE 3-4. The matches were much more fun because there was always a lot of communication, and even if you lost, you knew you were on your way to continuing to climb.

I took a forced break due to problems with my PC. I think I spent about three months without playing. My last level after ranked ended was ORACLE 1, and when I returned, I dropped straight to ARCANIST 6, and the quality of the matches changed DRASTICALLY.

There's no communication, rarely does anyone use the microphone, when I try to use it, it sounds like I'm talking to myself. No one completes the objectives, clears the waves, etc. I played for another month straight, and I became discouraged because it's very frustrating to spend 40 minutes talking to yourself and losing.

I came back this Sunday and my new Rank is SEEKER 6, and man, it was a tough day. The problems got worse. I played at least three matches where my teammates had 10,000 souls at 23 minutes, no communication, etc. Very frustrating for such a good game.

Anyway, I believe MMR Decay needs to be less aggressive. If you know what you're doing, it doesn't take more than two or three matches to get back into the swing of the game. Dropping from ORACLE to SEEKER is a lot.
