We queue as duo but keep getting split up into solo / duo with stranger lanes??

I exclusively play this game as a duo but we keep getting split up into multiple lanes. It's getting really annoying. I tried to ask questions about this on Deadlock discord and I was told "just talk to them and get a swap" but I do not think they've ever had to interact with people on this game. Half the games people are chill and will swap and we are all good. The other half is split between people who never respond and never read our swap requests, and people who are aggressively violent. Tonight I got told to kill myself for merely asking to swap, so of course I went to join my actual duo in his solo lane since I'm not gonna play with someone like that then he said he was gonna report me for leaving lane.

Can we please fix it so a duo would ideally be playing in a duo lane? I understand that sometimes queue constraints will force us into separate solo lanes if 2 other duos queue but we should never be getting a solo + duo with stranger split lane. The stranger can be in the solo lane instead, why force us to try and ask for a swap?

I know they added queue priority for Ivy and Dynamo to be in Duos. Try having one of your duo queue up as one of those characters and see if you get duo lane priority.

I am in the same situation as you. And I never could change my lane by chatting the game, because, as you said, almost anyone answer or want to change lanes. When I was playing with Pocket and McGinnis, it was easier to play with my duo than when I was playing with Ivy, what made me join in a solo lane or with random players during all the games yesterday.

I dont think this works. We don't have full knowledge on what is solo priority and what is duo priority. We'd have to both pick duo lane heroes and not pick any solo lane heroes but we don't have that data except what's said in patch notes.

Lanes in game are also divided by MMR. If you don't have a very close MMR to your duo, theres a chance you'll get split

Yeah no thanks. In casual unranked games I should be able to play with my friends. We do get laned together in a lot of games so I don't think its a MMR based split. This change has turned us off from playing the game compared to something like Dota where we can always pick our lane.

I've only swapped lanes for a duo twice and both times they've ended up being dominated and really fed their lane. From now on I don't swap ever.

I agree, it is a very frustrating issue and I`d love it to be fixed. 1 of 4 games we play on separate lanes with my friend. Last times on separate solo lanes so we couldn`t even swap. It is a major issue for me because I don`t play solo at all and it is quite a big chunk of fun playing together on a lane phase talking in discord.
I`d rather wait for another minute or two and find a game with a free duo lane then be forced to play separately.

Same. It's just so much fun vibing with your friend on the same lane. It's a totally different game if you can't do that and you would've been better off playing solo.

Completely agree. We often play trio and are sometimes distributed to 3 different lanes. What's the point? Dunno.

Following up here as a I was about to post about it myself. Felt like a couple patches ago, me and the friend I'd queue in with were always in the same lane. Now it feels like I'm always asking someone to switch, which, depending on how responsive they are, can really change the first few minutes of the game.
