Viscous cube goes on cool down if cast on a teammate that dies before cube is applied

There's a small timing window where you can cast cube on an ally as they take lethal damage. The teammate will die before the cube is applied, but the ability will still go on cool down.

This is a rare interaction, but can punish players attempting to support their allies in dire situations, especially given the already long cool down of the Cube before T3 / CDR.
