There should be a way to reduce the distance from the crosshair at which an active or an ability can trigger. In a real game scenario people are moving arround and being displaced, so it makes i frustrating when someone is out of range for an instant and you're ability targets a teammate on your peripheral vision.

Its a similar issue with actives like knockdown, a good example is ivy ult, its pretty easy for the selection to snap to the player being carried by ivy instead of ivy.

(it's hard to similate with mimic, I might replace the video late
The game Overwatch have a sensitivity slider for these things that might be a good reference.
