Viscous Ball - Venator Ult Interaction

Was fleeing from a Venator as Viscous in ball form - every time Venator would shoot one of his stakes, it would cause my ball to reverse and go the opposite direction I was intending to go. I don't think this is intended as Venator's ult says nothing about affecting movement?
