If you press 2 again (or E for me) a second time just before Vindicta takes off (when the channel bar is full), the ability will cancel and Vindicta will be stuck in the flight animation. I was able to reproduce this in the sandbox; it only reproed if the cancelling button press was within a few frames of the bar filling, not if the button was mashed or held. I didn't try changing my cancel keybinds.
