Very bad lag, stutters, rubber banding (w/ video)

I have had the same issue since the recent patch. The video duckbutt posted cropped it out for some reason but the performance issue red dot in the lower right by the minimap is blinking constantly. This happens in PVP and also private bot matches, but not the sandbox. It's bad enough that my character will go through the animation of throwing a grenade or shooting a box (bullet decals appear on the box) but the box does not break and the grenade does not go on cooldown. The connection quality to the server seems quite bad in the overlay. None of these problems were as persistent before the patch, or only showed up on patch days. I'm on a wireless connection.

maybe temporary package loss might cause something like this, can happen to the best of all connections but especially wireless isn't the best bet if you want to dodge that

pc doesnt have bluetooth or wifi, good old fashion ethernet
even then - there's tons of possible flaw points, doesn't even have to be on your end but providers are far away from being perfect, at least in my country (the wireless part was rather directed to @sabrage)

an actual indicator to pinpoint the problem would be if you were the only one in the game experiencing it or if it was actually server sided so everyone had a rough time, but i'm not an expert either

I thought for sure the issue was with Deadlock when I started getting the "red dot" as well. However, I'm using coax internet (Xfinity through Comcast) and there are a bunch of issues with the limiters and cable shielding on the wires down my street. I've opened multiple internet trouble tickets and the maintenance team is finally replacing the cables. Highly recommend setting up a long term ping test and watching for packet loss.

Unfortunately wifi is my only option at this time. I ran tests on packetlosstest and bufferbloat and detected some minor loss but this doesn't seem consistent with the constant issue I've been experiencing only since the 10-24-2024 patch. I've had no issue with other, similar games (Sauerbraten, Risk of Rain 2) on the same connection.

For what it's worth.. I ended up changing some settings of my router. I setup my desktop PC on a static IP outside the range of the ips, so my pc is on .23 while the range is .100 to .200. Previous the range (default value) was .0 to .200.

And the 4-5 games I have played since I experienced no lag
