I'm talking mostly about their lores. The MOBA genre is plagued by characters who are almost all elites of some kind for no real reason and it's not only repetitive, but also boring, so maybe it would be cool to have something different for once. The setting already has robots, science fiction equipment, magic and demons, so there's no real need to be a god, or the chosen one, or at the top of the greatest of the greatest, or be the commanding captain chief lieutenant of the first green beret special space navy division who saved the president 3 time in a row when you can just use magic or some kind of grenade launcher. It's made even worse by the fact that you need to keep things like balancing and hitbox sizes in mind, so you would have to nerf godly characters either way to the point where they seem normal and tiny when compared to their gaudy lores.

I'm not saying they need to have boring lives just because they're normal people/creatures, what I'm saying is that it's not impressive to deal with issues that can be easily solved with no effort, and it's not relatable to save the universe either, but relatively weak or normal characters in above their heads dealing with problems way out of their league can easily create some really tense and interesting stories, like in Die Hard, or hell Left 4 Dead, a game with incredibly memorable characters who are all normal, made in part by your same company.

Check the unreleased heros, they look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
