Unable to get mic working

When playing the game I am unable to use my microphone despite configuring it in the steam mic settings as described. I attempted to restart the game and still can not communicate

System Info:

• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
• 32.0 GB DDR4
• Aorus 1080 ti
• Windows 11 22631.3593

Microphone Used:
Arctic 7 headset mic (tried game and chat options)

UPDATE: This may be an issue with steam itself, after taking some time to mess with the settings turning off noise cancelation and turning it back on again resolved the issue as well as turning voice transmission threshold.
