Took a matchmaking penalty due to weird bug

Yesterday mid-match my game suddenly jumped to a loading screen and sent me back to the hideout, where it gave me a prompt to rejoin or abandon the match in progress. I tried rejoining and it did nothing. I restarted the game and then tried and it did nothing. So I decided I guess I'm just done with the game for the day. Today I logged back on and it still says I'm in that match and I need to rejoin or take a penalty. I had no choice but to take the penalty so I could attempt to queue for a new game. Short term I'm okay with just playing a few games in low prio or whatever, but I'm worried this is going to bite me in the ass later if for some reason or another I actually do have to abandon a match and it has on record I've done it more times than I actually have.

Same just now, went through the pain of making an account just now to upvote.
Was about 15 minutes in before it pulled me out and wouldn't let me back in with it continuously loading me back into the hideout.
It's the 3rd time now in the past week...
Apparently it's an old issue so we're outa luck
I'd love any information on this, maybe a workaround man... I was just starting to fall in love with the game
