There seems to be an ebb and flow of bot accounts in the Asian servers. A temporary solution I'm proposing are the following:
If we are going scorched earth, I don't mind going the CSGO route in which you need to pay a one-time-nonrefundable-fee of 5usd to gain access to this alpha. If you do and when the game releases you get a cool reward for doing so or crediting players the 5usd back if it's not within a reasonable timeframe. While it would be more on the extreme side and would push people away, it would prevent spam bot accounts as it would require most likely a bank account which can be linked back to cheaters/botters or limit the funds and therefore willingness to cheat/bot Deadlock.
- Your account needs to be at least 3 months old
- Your account needs to be active within the past week
- When you give invites to Deadlock, you agree that if any account is cheating/botting, your account may be suspended if it's suspected you are distributing access to prohibited behavior (e.g. selling accounts). As I'm sure Steam can track who is inviting and being invited.
