Movement Consideration on flat ground
Combo | Cost | Outcome |
Jump + Fast-Fall | 1 | Fog layer is at chest height. You may still break LOS from standing/tall enemies using this, but you MUST be crouched. |
Dash-jump + Fast-Fall | 1 | Fog Layer is slightly above most characters. |
Double Jump + Fast-Fall | 2 | Fog layer is ~2 feet above most characters, good for blocking LOS from above. |
Jump + Wall Jump + Fast-Fall | 1 | Fog layer is ~3 feet above most characters, good for blocking LOS from above. Longer setup time/area then using Double Jump. |
Hero interactions (Buff/Counter):
- *Seven: After the formation period this would provide cover for from Seven's ultimate. In order to kill him you would need to blindly shoot through the shroud which is probably tricky/interesting from a gameplay point of view.
- Can protect Patron from Seven Ultimate.
- Lash: Probably a bit hard to use against Lash, but certainly a possible answer to dodge his ultimate. You would still need activate it before any Ulti SFX but you might just use this in the back line to provide some additional cover while taking objectives.
- Most of Lash's damage comes from the ground pound. So if everyone gets under a cloud he could choose to just hit everyone without the stun.
- Gray Talon: Makes shooting from the air quite a bit harder when you can't see.
- Vindicta: This is a decent answer to getting tethered out in the open. Not nearly as good as a Debug Remover, but still an alright option that can potentially protect multiple allies.
- Dynamo: Probably not much of a consideration for pro players, but blocking LOS from above probably makes headshots near impossible.
- Kelvin: Nice way to block LOS upon entering/drooping from Ice Path.
- Pocket: I can see this being a useful to juke and confuse enemies. By adding a Veil Walker which would provide some additional subterfuge.
- Infernus: probably makes juking a bit easier and his fire trail less noticeable.
- Ivy: Gremlin can swim through her bomb and it's probably hard to see her even if you crouch.
- *Viper: This character is already an ankle biter from hell. Giving him a cloud to hide in is going to be a HUGE buff. It does take up a weapon slot so even though it's probably great, he has very high pressure to get other items.
- There is a damage trade-off in that sliding below a shroud probably makes headshots near impossible to hit.
- Urn: Since this is a passive item you may activate it while holding the urn. As such it can provide ideal cover when turning in the urn which can be done while crouching and moving side to side.
- This items is probably really interesting as a siege item to push against an enemy tower as you could use it to provide additional cover when the enemies are on the high ground. It only lasts for a short while, but that's probably long enough to kill 1-3 troupers depending.
- Walkers, Guardians, Mid-boss, and the Patron: Blocks line of sight. Normal protected/invincible rules apply for targets both within radius but without LOS.
- Troupers: Will not see or shoot through Sun Shroud.
- Jungle: Will not shoot through Sun Shroud. Normal radius and burrow behavior.
- Fog blocks LOS in both directions
- Fog does not block abilities until the formation time has elapsed.
- Fog blocks LOS for abilities for a total of 6 seconds.
- Special Case: Characters who are crouched in the fog will not have abilities LOS blocked if another character is standing or crouching in the fog regardless of true character height or camera position.
