I recently noticed the option to have my items select my preferred imbuement ability if I suggested it in my build and use quick buy. I added ability suggestions to the items in my build, but found that it wasn't working. I then discovered this forum post complaining about something similar. Please note that this is not exactly the same issue, but may likely be the same root cause. (https://forums.playdeadlock.com/threads/suggested-imbuement-option-not-available-outside-game.66212/)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Pick any hero.
2. While in the Hideout/Sandbox, Configure an item that can be imbued onto an ability.
3. Enter a (Bot) match and use quick buy to queue the configured imbued item (Mystic Expansion is easiest).
4. Get close to the shop and notice that the item still asks you to choose what to imbue.
5. Back away from the shop, edit the item in the build menu and reselect the recommended Imbue preference. (Just pressing the Edit button seems to fix this as well)
6. Walk to close to the shop, the item now purchases and imbues correctly.
I'm not sure what causes this, but this is a really nice feature when it works.
