Just spitballing a list of some ability ideas for a hero with a spider influenced kit. Abilities aren't listed in any particular order. Inspired by Rico Rodriguez from Just Cause and the Left 4 Dead 2 Jockey.
- Web Grapple
- A grappling hook ability. Shoot a web in the direction being aimed and fly in on that location.
- Can be shot at the environment and friendly/enemy players. Maybe it applies a slight movement debuff on who ever is grappled.
- Can be cancelled out mid pull by jumping.
- Upgraded to have multiple charges.
- Grab
- Temporarily latch onto and ride an enemy player.
- Grab range is similar to Bebop's bomb where you must be right next to the target to cast the ability.
- While grabbed maybe player can manually attack the target with melee or maybe damage is automatically dealt over time like a L4D2 Jockey.
- Constant lifesteal while grab is active.
- Target remains full control of their character while grabbed.
- A fully upgraded grab could allow the player to gain some control over the target's movement.
- Lasts only 1-2 seconds. Duration can be upgraded.
- Can be cancelled out mid attack by jumping.
- Upgraded to have multiple charges.
- Getting shot while already grabbing onto an enemy? Jump off and grab their buddy.
- If the ability duration ends the player character automatically preforms a small jump off of the target.
- Tripwire Web
- Create a web tether between 2 surfaces.
- Can be used as a trap that temporarily binds an enemy if walked through.
- Tether disappears as soon as the trap is activated.
- Can be shot down.
- Web Grapple can also interact with a tether.
- Can be used together to gain altitude by grappling a tether placed high up.
- Wall Grab
- While mid-air and next to a wall, aim your weapon to latch onto the wall's surface.
- Possible Ult?
- Don't really have much ideas for an ult ability.
- Maybe some kind of large AOE weapon disarm that has a windup like Infernus' ult?
