maybe a hero could have an ability which allows them to take the form of an enemy, ala spy from tf2? maybe they could also have the ability to disrupt the minimap so that the illusion works better?

maybe thats too far but...

I think a stealthier hero who relies a lot on stealth and mechanics like backstabs (or just extra damage to enemies facing away from them in general) would be really cool and unique. again spy is still to this day one of the most unique gameplay designs in any multiplayer game. you could easily recapture that in this game.
 
Iv been thinking about what the other ways you could implement stealth would be since I play a lot of Haze and love the speedy invis kit. Instead of disguising yourself as an enemy I was playing with the idea of someone who can essentially "prop hunt" the neutral mobs and lane creeps. I havnt come up with a full kit yet but one ability would be at rank 1: footsteps are silent, 2: disguise yourself as a ranged wave creep so you blend in, while a minion you get +X health regen, if you "die" you revert to normal, but you can parry cancel so if they try to melee finish you SURPRISE, 3: same as 2 but you can occupy an empty spot in a neutral camp, and at max rank whenever you end a disguise you get an ambush stat buff. Another ability would be the backstab like you were talking about, which I have given no thought to how scaling it would work but its a melee backstab that does a multiplier if they dont see you OR are parry stunned. So the combo would be hide and parry or popout when there back is turned and then chunk them.

As an ult I'd give them something like Mirage in Apex, at max level youd make 4 clones that scatter, have basic AI so they auto attack enemies, reactivating the ability OR dying and you instantly bodyswap to a different one so you can chose to stay and fight or book it, during the duration they all have less health and exept the one your in do less damage. I have no idea how that would scale through the ranks though but itd be easy enough to counter with a large burst AOE unless your enemies are slow to react and the clones make space before being deleted.
