"stale" ranks

I didn't know where else to put this and i thought it would just get looked over in the discord but..

I know the valve team isn't prioritizing ranks right now, but some people, including myself, have seem to become stuck in mid to high ranks. no matter how much we win or lose the core skill rating doesn't seem to change.
could y'all do a reset or add a few more parameters to help the ranks on older account be more volatile?
thank you

(ps i don't like how my reports get taken away if i report ppl who shouldn't be in the rank they are, like game after game of 0-10 isn't fun for me nor the player who is struggling)

y'know... it's weird. I booted the game up first day and noticed I went from Emissary 2 to Archon 1 overnight; seems like they adjusted some things in the back-end. While I personally feel I've more than earned it at this point, I can't help but worry that players far worse than me received a rank boost far greater than mine. My matchmaking quality from the past couple days doesn't dissuade me to that theory.

About half my matches so far have been my team and I getting our shit pushed in for 35 minutes, then a sudden and violent turnaround leading to a quote-unquote upset, no doubt owing to comeback mechanics. The other half are the same except the second part never happens.

In the time between the queuing and god-shooting, I'm beside myself looking at the ineptitude of my teammates. I used to suck at this game, we all did. Some of us still do; that's why matchmaking exists. Clearly, ranks are fucked right now.

Also, it seems like no matter what I do, my rank isn't changing. Can't derank if I keep losing, can't promote if I keep winning. Is this like some weird rank probation they added for the update? Or is the ranking system hierarchy-based and it broke because too many people got their placements at the same time?

No it just breaks during the next major update after your first calibration. That's how it do for most people.

Ranks are also percentage based. So, the more people playing the wider the spread. I went up 2 ranks and 3 levels from the player population alone. That is why matchmaking it complete booty with low player count. In theory, it should slowly get better more games you play with high player count. But that doesn't mean it will fix the slate rank issue. It will make it harder to go up and easier to go down. They use a percentage-based bell curve rank system. It is booty, I agree. But that is why matchmaking becomes such shit the lower the player count is. And harder to rank up the more players there are. Stupid if you ask me.
