Title pretty much explains it-- if you spectate a match that your friends are playing in, you can give them information about positioning and other important things in real time because there is, as far as I can tell absolutely no delay, and you can spectate either team freely and see the minimap at all times.
This is not exactly a bug, but obviously an issue/exploit for fair gameplay because you can get huge advantages with regards to ganking enemies, warning your team of ganks, calling when people are going for midboss, etc, etc.
