[Solved/Just the wrong error message] Ranked Closed within the time window for it

Hi all,

I'm on EST, I tried playing my ranked game at 14:55, and again at 15:05 and it keeps telling me that I need to wait for my play window to queue.

The Daily Schedule window is green, and I'm clearly in the right time slot for it. What gives?



Not going to lie, this is a huge let down for me right now.

I am having the same issue. I tried restarting my game and loading back in and still no luck.

having the same issue as well the only answer i can think of is that ranked opens at a specific time today since its the first day and its just not shown or that the times are actually in west coast times even though it says it shows in local time

Don't bother asking on Discord, or joining for that matter, it's full of toxic people that tell you that this:

is you reading wrong.

I don't know why there isn't an announcement anywhere, there was a discord mod that said something about 8PM GMT that it opens, some other post saying it opens in 40 minutes.

At this point I'm just going to wait until tomorrow.

Save yourself the frustration and don't participate on the Discord server. More toxic than the in-game league community.

As a side note; I'm a developer and I don't understand how there isn't a specific error code for "NOT ONLINE" vs "Not in your time window". Amateur hour that creates a lot of confusion here.

Might be worth implementing, seeing as it won't be the last time you have to bring down Ranked / servers in general offline within a play window.

I have to wonder why valve would open this based on GMT and not, ya know, west coast US where their offices and main servers are. Seems kind of pointless and is probably what is causing these issues, because before the update just 20 minutes ago it specifically said "ranked will start for the first time at 8PM GMT 10/15".

8PM GMT is in 30 minutes from now, so they are both correct.

2 hours ago there was a banner there that said ranked opens Tuesday at 8PM GMT which is in 30 minutes. Idk why the devs removed it in the most recent hotfix (1 hour ago)

it Seems they have allowed schedule changing to accommodate people who chose a schedule that did not coincide with the launch of ranked play.

What is going on so many of us just set in a queue until we found out the hard way some ppl get to and some ppl dont?

For the record; After 8pm GMT, the next queue window for me worked just as intended.

The thread was to ask to make it more clear that it's not a queue window issue, but that the ranking queues as a whole were not online.
