Significant preformance drop since the latest patch

Since this latest patch, the preformance has made the game almost umplayable. I used to get 90-100+ fps in lane and around 60 during team fights, now I get ~70-80 in lane and 40-50 during team fights, especially around the new areas added. I dont know if more optimization can be done or lower options for mid-low end pc's.

my specs:
CPU: i7-7700
RAM: 16GB DDR4
GPU: gtx 1080
Storage game is on: 500 GB Nvme N.2 SSD
Windows 10

I've been suffering from the exact same issue. Pressing Tab with the new UI proceeds to lower my frames by 30-40%. My friends who play on lower end rigs had no issues playing previously now cannot play the game. It seems that every single one of my games has someone leaving because they simply cannot play the game due to consistent frame drops and crashes since this new update. I hope swift action is taken to optimize the game and make it playable and smooth for everyone.
