Shiv Damage Reduction Bug [EDIT: Not a bug]

Shiv seems to have a base damage reduction that I believe is on par with his 3 ability, making me believe the ability is bugged. I included screenshots of damage to shiv and haze (which in the hero selection screen both report to have 0% weapon and spirit damage reduction). My screenshot only includes spirit damage, but I believe weapon damage is also effected. hazedmg.pngshivdmg.pnghazedmr.pngshivdmr.png

Does his passive not work at the start without leveling it up? Becuase if so, he probably just has innate bullet resistance not updated on the thing there.

This is not a result of resistances. If you read Shiv's passive (on his 3), he only 'takes' 60% of oncoming damage instantly and 'defers' 40% of it. 63 is exactly 60% of 105. My guess is that the DOT from deferring is so small with such a low damage shot that it doesn't display, and I believe deferred damage counts as self damage rather than damage from the person who originated the damage source so you wouldn't see it tick at the top. Bots in sandbox start with every ability unlocked, and you can see the deferred damage in real time if you just inflict more damage. It can be argued that the damage is displayed in a weird way, but its definitely not some mistaken resistance or anything.

Yeah, I was busy gathering up the screenshots and posting this before I had to step away from the computer for the weekend that I didn't fully grasp what ability 3, Bloodletting, was doing. I opened up the sandbox mode again, and now I do see the remaining damage slowly tick down, but I agree that I wish there was better signage for the DOT.
