Rocket jumping + market gardener hero

i am part of the rocket launcher agenda. i am all here for abilities such as big rocket and bigger rocket.

pain tolerance is a really good idea! it doesn't just help the rocket jump style, it also teaches it!

in my mind market gardener seems beyond its power budget with the stun, since performing one is like the knockdown item (and counterbuild items are typically at certain prices to allow a back and forth power spike culminating at unstoppable).

but maybe its okay if you have low air control, because if its really hard to actually land the stun in a game with dashes then you deserve to get the stun. or we can just let bebop perform dashes mid-ult to compensate haha.

Shithouse would disagree with losers flying in the sky
The closet hero to this is Shiv with his shotgun movement
But I wouldn't fret on it to much since Valve probably already tried to see if a quake based movement character would work, and I'll tell you that probably already been done but is to OP, just look at celeste and imagine rocket jumps and be on the other side of the map within 10 seconds

A hero like that would dominate upper ladder and maybe smurf in low elo

i think this is kinda true it may totally be op but i just wanted this on the forums bc i think it could be so much fun, and we know valve tried it at some point with rutger. I'd compare it to viscous puddle punch more than anything else tho. maybe the m1 rocket boost would be hella op along with the 3. but the main caveat is that u have to sacrifice your main damaging ability if u use your 3 for movement, and on top of that there's self damage. Honestly i think it would be a little stronger than shiv or viscous movement, but it def has more consequences and points where it could be balanced but still keep that core rocket jumping identity

when it comes to ganking, its just keeping mobility + damage within a budget.

another danger is if rocket splash knockback is too consistent. i think the trick to that is the rockets are amazingly slow.

even then, a big enough splash knockback would invalidate stuff like haze ult (you leave her damage radius) which doesn't only save you, but can save your teammates. we have delicate counterbuild timings of haze ult > metal skin > silence wave > dispel magic / unstoppable > etc to not ruin (otherwise the outcome of all your games are decided in the first 8 minutes to see who snowballs)

theres a huge premium on all crowd control because its value changes wildly depending on whats happening in the game. doing a quick midair 1->melee on holliday will volleyball spike her barrels like a rocket launcher already, but you'll only get a small vertical knockup.

but we could just leave the meaningful splash for ability 4 and then see how the rest goes. maybe the gun is just a bunch of fireworks, big rocket is an improvised rocket, and bigger rocket shoots an actual military rocket that somehow got into this hero's hands

as for keeping midboss contention fair, maybe the splash knockback affects teammates as well but without the damage.
