Reporting Toxic Behavior in Playtest by Popular Streamer

Hello all,

I’d like to share my horrendous experience I’ve had with a player by the name of "j a m s ide" (Steam username: edizmaj, Steam ID: 76561198333108412).

I’ve invested over 600 hours into this game and I've enjoyed every second of it, particularly because of its competitive nature, even at this early stage of its development. However, competition can sometimes bring out the worst in people, and my encounters with 'j a m s ide' over the past few weeks have proven exactly that.

Despite my efforts to remain calm and focused, regardless of in-game situations or others' remarks, his behaviour towards me has been unacceptable, especially now that ranked play has been introduced. 'j a m s ide,' who is also a prominent streamer, has harassed me in nearly every game we’ve played together. While I understand the competitive drive, the desire to win, and even the need to put on a show for his viewers, his behavior has crossed every line.

I am now formally asking that this type of behavior not be tolerated, even from someone with his level of popularity. No matter how big a streamer someone is, no one should be allowed to degrade others like this in a playtest—or in any game. Enough is enough.

I’m hoping that Valve will stand by its policy of addressing toxic behavior, especially during such an important testing phase. And will hopefully show him that Valve treats all players as equal and his confidence in acting however he wants, saying whatever he wants will have consequences as they would to other people.

Thank you for taking the time to address this matter.

it has been uploaded to some youtube channel now, still no progress on the matter.
I guess guys, you should follow the rules UNLESS you are a big streamer, then you are above the law, as valve has clearly shown.
I've dmd a moderator (pann) and yoshi himself, no progress.

Toxicity in online gaming, and especially MOBAs is a huge issue. I would love to see a game address the issue and put real steps in place to curb it. Since this is Valve and there is a lot of attention on this game, it would make a great candidate for a game pushing for change.

It looks like this from my point, you want to ban player not because he toxic, but because he is toxic AND streamer. Use same rules for everyone or nobody. He probably got his voice mute.

Apparently not that popular. I didn't know wtf he was until this thread.... not that I am going to go look him up now. Most likely I already know his mom.

Toxicity is in the eye of the beholder. What one thinks is toxic another will not.

Shit talk comes with the competitive environment. Cant take the heat? GTF out of the kitchen.

This would be a valid take if it hadn't been proven again and again that a positive mental leads to better outcomes in high-level competitive environments.

However given you're Initiate II you're still stuck in the bottom of the barrel - people being mad because they don't understand what is happening and lash out. Eventually you crest a point of self-reflection.
